last round

my final few months of school however I am certain that I have only just begun to learn how to actually be a student, or rather a good student. within 3 months of graduating I have only just obtained the ability to resist procrastination and actually do things when I need to

even this is proof of that, because I started this a year ago in a great period of procrastination and yet recently I have been a hundred miles away paying a terribly small amount of atention to high tea, I must be doing something right... or wrong

well,

these are some pieces by Rasmus Emmanuel Svensson

skull it

although I try to find new things, sometimes the old is too hard to leave
or perhaps I have a dark side that needs tending to

skulls have been and will remain my favourite accessory

and Tina Lilienthal knows just what I'm talking about

LOVE.

sorry for late report, school has just started,
but hoorah for New Zealand Fashion Week, lets keep it coming

x

Rodarte, Phillip, Derek and Diane

although New York Fashion Week has come to an end and everything has been packed up once again, but I still have lots to blog about!

Rodarte was incredible, as usual, in putting pieces and colours together and creating very unique while still very feminine forms

also on a beauty note I loved the hair

3.1 Phillip Lim's collection was sharp and beautiful, the lines and layers were very prominent for me and the blue is such a gorgeous colour that has been used in practically every designer's palette for spring

this collection, I also felt was very wearable
yum yum yum

I loved Derek Lam's pieces everything felt perfect for spring where a lot of other collections still feel a bit stuck in fall for me

plus I love the pretty textures yet simple figures with high waists and relatively high collars, and very seventies sexy

these shorts and shoes, basically top of my must have list

Diane Von Furstenberg's collection was inspired by Isadora Duncan, but brings the modern appeal with the vivid colours and graphic prints

I think the glasses were the best part

x

adam and charlotte/rag and bone

ADAM and Charlotte Ronson were fairly opposite but I liked both collections a lot, a lot!

classic pieces, gorgeous floral lace and structured shapes, it's also been interesting how a lot of shows have incorporated leather as a spring collection to carry it out of winter

loved this collection, it was magically nineties and inspired by the alter ego fro My So Called Life (which admittedly I havn't actually seen), but after seeing this collection I'm thinking a lot of hoodies and beanies

I liked this collection, although the style.com review was right, it's not as wearable as one would like, but still I can't say I'm about to be wearing anything from any shows so thats not really the point for me... how do you beat shiny silver pants?

and I am totally aware that these are such teeny tiny shots of the shows but I'm keeping just my favourites and what sums the show up for me the best and then I'll do nice big post for the big shows!!

Wang

the button that allows me to copy the computer screen has been broken for almost a year now and I only just learnt a new way to copy pictures and it makes me soooo happy so I can now do some sort of cover of New York Fashion Week

yippee

Alexander Wang

new season new palette new ideas
spring is beginning to be established as a moment for white
Wang has also put in some "sickly versions of pastel" which is a perfect description by the lovely Erin Wasson in the style.com video of the show

I love using white in large amounts, and the layer on layer and texture and feeling of this collection was a nice move away from winter towards a brighter day

lots of ankle; the length on the pants is great with the shoes and I really like the sleek rose silver, almost windbreaker type jacket

overall I like the point of difference and how brilliant it is for spring

x

to call my own

my two favourite bracelets right now, I wish I wore more jewellery but it seems to just be something I'm not in the habit of

but I have a few bits I'm pretty proud of and I wear most often

I bought my Alexander McQueen bracelet when I got to try on the armadillo heels (one of my older posts) and I found my favourite little bead bracelet with the cross at Duchess on Nuffield St

x

p.s the grey nailpolish which I absolutely love is American Apparel 'mouse'

land of macaroons

somehow I stumbled upon this little piece of Mexico as I was doing my usual net surfing, or, more appropriately, dawdling
.
I don't know if you've noticed how people like to take photos of their food and post it right before they are about to eat. It's as if they are saying 'shame on you for not eating such delicacies as I, here is a photo to see just what you are missing', and minutes after taking this photo you know that they have sunk their teeth into whatever it is that you know you don't have.
.
WELL! I shall out do them all! and without teasing anyone because I too will not be eating these anytime soon, unless anyone fancies a trip to Mexico?

top knotch

Topshop just got some new pieces in today and I can pretty much say they are all incredible and most desirable, and I have become the unfortunate clinger of one coat in particular(which actually isn't justified or photographed to show it's potential on the website), it was featured in the September Teen Vogue and it's simply marvellous
.
if there were ever a shearling trench to own this would by far be it
.

so you might have noticed that leather and suede are practically my two favourite things right now... and antler headbands, but that's a given, however it's probably best I leave them to the professionals
